Ronan had his first drive in a Cadet Kart on his 8th birthday - and loved it!
He passed the ARKS (Assocation of Racing Kart Schools) Novice Kart driver test on 14th February 2007 - to gain his MSA (Motor Sports Association) National B Novice Licence to compete at karting club level.
Ronan won two Novice trophies at Shennington Race Track on 20th May 2007 and 16th June 2007 - these are awarded to the highest placed Novice driver in the Cadet final.
To upgrade from Novice to "Yellow Plate" (experienced drivers) he had to complete 5 club meetings and obtain the signature of the Clerk of Course to confirm that his driving during the meeting was of an acceptable standard. Ronan upgraded to his MSA National A Licence in July 2007, this licence now entitles him to race at Championship level.
Ronan's trophy collection is now growing, and we anticipate having to make room in our house for many more in the future!

We must say a big thank you to Ken and Darren Masters (Kart-Tek Racing, Whilton Mill). Thanks to their expert help, tuition and advice, Ronan has made massive improvements since he started driving, and technically we have learned a great deal about the mechanics of Kart racing.
