Easykart World Finals 2009

Siena, Italy 15-18 October

Ronan took his place in the 20 driver UK team, with 4 other cadet drivers. 5 drivers joined them from each of the Junior, Senior Light and Senior Heavy classes. The countries who entered teams were: UK, Italy, North Cyprus, Turkey, Greece, Germany, Poland, Russia, USA, Mexico, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Colombia, Venezuela and Japan.

Karts were provided at the Italian track on arrival, and despite missing the practice sessions due to engine problems, we went straight into qualifying and achieved 8th position for the B Final (of A, B and C). A top 6 finish would have meant promotion to the A Final with a chance of a trophy. Still suffering from engine problems Ronan finished 19th in the B Final, giving an overall result of a respectable 47th out of 76 drivers.

Special thanks to Darren Masters of Kart-Tek Racing and Steve Sizer of PremierBearing Co Ltd for assisting with sponsorship of our World Finals entry, enabling us to participate in this event.
