Driver Profile

One evening in June 2006 Ronan had his first drive in a kart at Whilton Mill. The bug had bitten and we bought a WTP engined Mari chassis which became Ronan's 8th birthday present. We spent the rest of 2006 testing to get Ronan up to speed.
Into 2007 and we took every opportunity to test, nearly always in the rain it seemed, but I think that has made Ronan a better driver. Ronan was ready for the ARKS test and passed on the 14th February. Now to plan for Ronan's first race.
The 2007 Brazillian Cup was Ronan's first meeting at Whilton Mill. Ronan raced at Shenington and Whilton Mill winning 2 novice trophies out of 5. Ronan continued to gain experience and trophies. The best result was 3rd at the Midland Champs Little Rissington.
In 2008 we decided to contest the Whilton Mill and Kimbolton Club Championships. Ronan had two heat wins and won trophies during the season.

A 2nd place final trophy at Whilton Mill in the rain, note Ronan's top is a bit wet! Ronan finished 10th in the club championship

Ronan finished 2nd in the Kimbolton club championship, and here Ronan is collecting the trophy form club secretary Daphne Freeman.

A great achievement in Ronan's first full season.
